Admittedly, there are still some dog trainers who feed that worry (and feed off it). Fortunately there’s some good research that debunks those ideas and frees us to have better, smarter relationships with our dogs.

Dogs are amazing gifts, and anyone who loves a dog will tell you they remain a gift throughout their lives. So, yes a puppy can be a great holiday gift for some people.
That said, I don’t recommend giving anyone a live puppy as a surprise on Christmas Morning. ( Read more and watch video )
